Q: How does ImageShare work?
ImageShare moves complete imaging studies from a computer or CD to selected physician. Our uploading application takes imaging studies and stores them in our secure data center where the recipient will be able to access his or her studies from his or her worklist—similar to an email inbox. The recipient can view this study in our built-in online viewer or download the study for long term storage in PACS. Additionally, the recipient can also share this study with colleagues around the world, regardless of whether or not they have an ImageShare account.

create for you. There the sender can fill in some brief information about the case, insert a CD or find the files on their computer, and upload the study. The process is designed to be simple and intuitive. In fact, we have the whole thing laid out in a single page step-by-step guide.

Our temporary share feature allows you to share a study with anyone, regardless of whether or not they have an ImageShare account. This feature allows you send
an encrypted link to an email address that grants access to the chosen study. This link expires after 48 hours for security purposes.
My referral network has been sending me CDs for years; how do I make sure they start sending to me using ImageShare?
Outreach and support is a primary pillar of what we offer. We understand that raising awareness among your referral network can be time consuming and difficult. That is why we take that task on for you. Not only are our support lines open to sites sending you studies, we proactively reach out to a number of hospitals in your referral network to build awareness and train the staff on how to send using ImageShare. Part of the initial ImageShare setup process is identifying organizations you’d like us to introduce to your new way of sending and receiving studies.
Additionally, we distribute step-by-step guides explaining how to upload to all of the hospitals for which you can give us contact information. How long are the images stored in your system?
Our standard contract covers 1 year of storage, but longer storage is available.

ImageShare is a web-based platform meaning that it can be used on any computer or device that is connected to the internet. Laptops, hospital workstations, iPads, and even smart phones can all access the ImageShare system with no initial set up.
Our uploader does use the Java plug-in. We do require that your Java is updated, however this Java plug-in is utilized by many other websites and applications and it is very likely that you already have it.
How do we pay for this?
Institutions pay a monthly license fee per user for access to our portal. This fee also covers support and network outreach costs. The price per user license varies based on the number licenses your institution plans to purchase.
How long does it take to upload a study?
Upload times are determined by the size of the file to be uploaded and the bandwidth of the sender’s internet connection. An average sized study on an average hospitals bandwidth will take about 5-10 minutes to upload. But this is not time you are required to spend sitting at the computer, ImageShare will automatically notify you when an upload is complete.
